For those of you who didn’t know, October is LGBTQ+ History Month. And so we celebrate where we came from; we celebrate the black trans women who fought for the rights we have today. But also, @pflag reminds us to celebrate the parents who have created a loving and accepting home for their queer children. The parents whom remind their kids that their love is truly unconditional and knows no difference when it comes to sexuality.

Most people don’t understand what it’s like to grow up as a queer kid and/or to live as a queer person every day. There’s a huge mental side to it that involves constant...
- questioning of the world around us
- questioning of ourselves
- wondering if it’s safe to speak of or physically express our sexuality
- wondering if we will get the same experiences as our straight friends

The simplest things for straight humans can be very big things for an LGBTQ+ human.

Marriage is one of those things. If you’re knowledgeable of current politics, you know that gay marriage is up for being rescinded on the Republican platform. Along with protections for our transgender friends. The best information can be found at @humanrightscampaign 🤍

- Always create a safe space for them
- Be mindful of your words + expressions
