Good morning from midway through my cup of coffee!

My morning routine often consists of sitting with this cup and taking a lot of deep breaths. Breaths so deep I can feel them fill all corners and crevices of my body, right to my toes. And I reflect on whatever comes to mind.
•
I sat with one of my best friends the other night and we were reflecting on this year so far and how most people would chalk it up to a shit show, but we would rather say its been revolutionary - and it’s just getting started. So much good has come from truly terrible things.
•
•
_ We were forced to slow down - mental health got a win.
_ We stopped traveling - Mother Earth got a win.
_ We came together to fight a pandemic - humanity got a win.
_ We fought for workplace equality - the LGBTQIA+ community got a win.
_ We celebrated Pride - Marsha P. Johnson and black trans women will ALWAYS get a win.
_ We witnessed a tragedy (that should have never happened) - but the BLM movement WILL win.

Even though the fight rages on, it’s important to re-energize by celebrating the smaller wins along the way. We have changed so much in 6 months, and I cannot wait to see where we are at the end of this year. We won’t go back to “normal” because that was so very much not working, but I trust that our new version of “normal” will be beautiful.
