Transit Thursday! This week, our Team TDJ Run the L Challenge participants are tackling the 12 miles of the Pink Line. This line is special to us at Taller de José because it has many stops in Little Village, including the California stop where our staff and clients can catch the train to the med district, downtown, and more. It's not too late to join us before the train leaves the station, so check out our Facebook event or send us a message for more information!

Our Compañerx staff will be sharing stories with you each week to let you know how TDJ staff use each of the L lines to accompany community members. This week features the Polk stop along the Pink Line: 
You and the client step off the car and are greeted by a sprawl of hospitals, specialized clinics, and academic buildings. Welcome to the Illinois Medical District, a specially-zoned area of the West Loop that houses a large concentration of Chicago’s medical infrastructure. Your client has a diabetes check-up with the Endocrinology Clinic at Stroger Hospital so you hustle down the stairs and hit the pavement. Most of our clients are seen at Stroger as it is the city’s main public hospital, but there are four hospitals in all that call the Medical District home. Make sure you bring snacks and water- over 120,000 people a year are treated at Stroger and waits for even basic appointments can last for hours!
