Claude Giroux came home today. 

The Sens made their long-anticipated free agent splash, signing Hearst native Giroux to a three-year contract at a reasonable price. He makes their top-six so much better. It’s a great day to be a Sens fan. 

The Sens also traded Connor Brown to Washington for a second, the expectation is that pick will be part of a package to acquire a top-four defenceman. Brown was a heart and soul player during his time in Ottawa, productively playing in all situations. He was loved by all Sens fan, best of luck to him with the Caps.
