To explore the project, Colby Mugrabi of minnimuse offers her thoughts: -The most robust symbol amongst Villalba’s modes of expression is his use of eyes as a means of storytelling. The windows into someone’s soul, eyes in Villalba’s work serve a literal and metaphorical purpose as both commonplace symbols and an allusion to something greater. As such, its no coincidence that Villalba’s trademark eyes are depicted in multiple formats across the V-Sling Handbag, juxtaposed with purpose and in conversation with Valentino’s “V” logo, a hallmark monogram of the house.⁣
