## Caption

We have kicked off our studies of Christmas/Holidays around the world.  We traveled to Greenland to learn about their Christmas traditions.  We located Greenland on our globe and discovered that it is an island!  We learned that most homes display stars in their windows during the Christmas season, so the children made their own paper stars.  The children also made the flag of Greenland.  The next stop on our tour was Russia!  We located it on the map and found that it is located on the biggest continent, Asia!  The children loved playing with the Matryoshka doll and making their own paper version.  While doing the flag making project, the children were quick to point out that our flag has the same colors!
