#transformationtuesday Lately I've been reflecting on the mindset shift I've experienced since moving from a more "traditional" classroom to homeschool. Here are a few notable differences:

1. I no longer consider the children to be in any particular grade. If I need a benchmark for development I consider their age.

2. No one is "behind". As a matter of fact, I've come to really dislike that phrase. They are all progressing and learning at a rate that is appropriate for them.

3. I no longer feel the need to rush through curriculum to fit it all in by the end of year standardized test. At our school we are able to be guided by the children's interests, not arbitrary standards set by the state or someone else.

Most importantly, I embrace the freedom to do what is in the best interest of the children.
