Pictured here, Day of the Dead statues for sale at a market in Patzcuaro, Mexico. Though it is often recognized as pre-celebration to the Roman Catholic Día de Los Santos (All Saints Day), the Day of the Dead cultural celebration has its roots in the pre-Columbian cultures of Mexico that dedicated a day to the Lady of the Dead.
