Important PSA: Being aware of potential choking hazards we leave behind is an essential aspect of responsible behavior. Whether it's in public spaces, such as parks, restaurants, or someone else's home, or even in our own living areas, it's crucial to consider the potential risks we might unknowingly create. Leaving behind small objects, like bottle caps, pen caps, buttons, or in this case Nerf ammo, can pose a significant danger, especially to young children or pets who may find them and put them in their mouths. By taking a moment to scan our surroundings before leaving, we can ensure that we haven't inadvertently left behind any small items that could become choking hazards. This simple act of awareness and consideration can help protect others and prevent accidents from occurring, promoting a safer and more conscientious environment for everyone. As a pet owner, I try my hardest to ensure Tux doesn’t get into anything he’s not supposed to. Like most dogs, Tux is naturally curious and will often explore his surroundings which might include investigating objects with his mouth and sometimes swallowing said objects. At some point recently (days/weeks ago…not exactly sure), Tux decided he wanted to see what Nerf ammo tasted like. Tux does have the tendency to attempt to swallow objects when I try to investigate so I unknowingly might be partly to blame for this. This afternoon it decided to make its way back up which immediately caused me to panic trying to figure out what it was and where it came from. Although I’m relieved it wasn’t something that could be found in my home, it is still an alarming situation as I have no idea where this object came from as we frequent a lot of locations. I’m asking everyone to please be mindful of the potential hazards you or your family may be leaving behind. This could’ve turned out a lot worse than it did.
