Last Friday at Dove Missions 🕊 we had a famous Dominican, singer/composer visit us: Xiomara Fortuna! 🎤 🎼

Xiomara has dedicated over 40 years to the art! She promised to bring the kids a guitar 🎸 and drum 🥁 teacher, to aid their musical learning. Xiomara will also come back to Dove to run a casting to assess which kids have the ability to sing! 🎶 Furthermore, she intends to speak to the people of Casa de Cultura (House of Culture) to try and get funds so the kids can have music. 🎭 
On the day, Xiomara spoke to the kids about having a culture of peace, filled with positive things. She also enlightened the kids that they themselves must be the change as they are the future. ✨❤️ The kids were also taught some musical culture, such as what is Merengue and which instruments are used. 🥁 Xiomara also performed popular Dominican songs to the kids!

El viernes pasado en Dove Missions 🕊 nos visitó una famosa cantante/compositora Dominicana: Xiomara Fortuna! 🎤 🎼

Xiomara le ha dedicado más de 40 años a este arte! Durante su visita nos prometió un profesor de guitarra 🎸 y tambora 🥁para la educación musical de los niños. Xiomara regresará a Dove para hacer un casting y determinar cuáles de los niños(as) tienen habilidad para el canto! 🎶 Ella también hablará con las personas de Casa de Cultura para ver si pueden facilitar fondos para proveerle música a los chicos(as). 🎭 
Xiomara le hablo a los chicos sobre una cultura de paz llena de cosas positivas. También le dejo dicho a los niños que ellos  mismos son los que tienen que ser el cambio ya que ellos son el futuro. ✨ ❤️ A los niños también se les enseñó sobre cultura musical, como el merengue y los instrumentos que se usan. 🥁 Xiomara también les cantó canciones muy populares Dominicanas! 
Sobretodo, este fue un día fantástico, educacional y lleno de cultura que todos pudieron disfrutar! 🇩🇴 ❤️ #conocimientoespoder #losniñossonelfuturo
