MINIMIZING FALSE STEPS

I think this is one of the most challenging things as a defender. Obviously, an offensive player always has an advantage when they dodge, but with minimizing false steps and changing direction quickly and efficiently, your reaction time will increase exponentially. Here’s a drill:

- Lean to either side until you have no other option but to step

- Take a hard step into the ground and rotate your hips aggressively toward the target

- Explode out of your change of direction and drive your legs towards the offensive player

- ALWAYS KEEP YOUR STICK IN FRONT
