Another auction bites the dust. 1,400 possessions that belonged to #FreddieMercury were sold by @sothebys in London for $50.4 million.

Items that went under the hammer included the former #Queen frontman's Yahama grand piano, which was used in creating #BohemianRhapsody, for $2.2 million— a record for a composer’s piano. His silver Tiffany & Co moustache comb was sold for $189,000, greatly surpassing its pre-auction estimate of $500 to $750.

Mercury left all of his personal items to his first love and close friend #MaryAustin, who cared for them for more than 30 years. In a #Sothebys press release she said, "The time has come for me to take the difficult decision to close this very special chapter in my life. It was important to me to do this in a way that I felt Freddie would have loved, and there was nothing he loved more than an auction."
