Speaking to @insider, Petty explains she spent three months completing the unique look. She received a lot of positive feedback, but also came across concerns that the noise of the beads would bother fellow concert-goers. She says she was "genuinely nervous" about the negative comments, but got the courage to wear it with the "help and reassurance" from her best friend. Petty adds, "And no, you could not hear the beads at ALL once the music started."⁠
