#SydneySweeney says she was "ostracized" for having breasts early. Her Nov. 2022 interview with britishgq on her journey during #puberty is making waves again— this time, with other women coming to her defense, sharing similar stories of their own.

One woman said, “I actually lost a few friendships over this because my friend’s moms didn’t want them hanging out with someone who was already ‘developed,'” while another voiced about being "sexually harassed at school for having boobs" at age 11.

Mahaliah Little, assistant professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies, believes people assume "puberty is this time when girls start wielding their power and try to seduce people, when in actuality you feel powerless." She explained how difficult it is for children to understand they "go from being seen as neutral to being seen as a threat" without internalizing shame about how they look.

#BridgitKasperski, founder of breasts-positivity community #BustiesForever, said it's common for girls to grow up feeling like their body is the problem, when in reality, the issue is behind people responding to physicality and sexualizing children. She hopes seeing outcry from celebrities with similar experiences "will change the way that people can talk through experiencing their bodies at this pivotal time in their lives."
