#BindiIrwin is breaking her silence about her decade-long struggle with #endometriosis. She says doctors found 37 lesions, some of which were "very deep and difficult to remove, in addition to a chocolate cyst (a cyst that's filled with menstrual blood, which is common among those suffering with endometriosis).

According to the #MayoClinic, endometriosis is a disorder where "tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus, the endometrium, grows outside your uterus."

After struggling with fatigue, pain and nausea, a doctor told her "it was simply something you deal with as a woman," so she "gave up entirely, trying to function through the pain."

Bindi feels responsible to share her story for other women who need help, and admits she never found answers to help treat her pain until a friend "helped set [her] on a path of regaining [her] life."
