On today’s #femalefriday we’re looking at the First Lady of Physics, Chien-Shiung Wu. In 1944, she joined the Manhattan Project where she focused on radiation detection. After the war, Wu continued to serve the physics community through various projects from beta decay and more. She was the first woman to serve as president of the American Physical Society. Wu also received awards including the National Medal of Science, the Comstock Prize, the first honorary doctorate awarded to a female at Princeton University, and won the Wolf Prize in Physics in 1978. What an incredible woman!
