After a turbulent start to 2020, @JRHildebrand was excited to get back to the track and the sport that he loves so dearly, but after such a difficult few months for so many groups and individuals, the world we left in March is not the same world we're now living in August. After using the time off to self-reflect, JR decided he wanted to use the global platform of the Indy 500 to share his perspective and a message of hope for the future. 
 
He reached out to his friend @OrnamentalConifer, a Los Angeles based artist and the Art Director of @Race.Service, who has become known for incorporating impactful words and phrases in his art.  What came from that collaboration was this "team" t-shirt.  The sponsors you see are not companies, but rather expressions that represent JR's commitment to sponsoring a better future. To pick one cause to fight for right now is not enough—hope, change, worldwide optimism, these ideas are a message of trust in building a better future ahead, they're concepts that everyone struggling through this difficult and turbulent time needs a little bit more of right now. 'The Future is Our Fault' and 'Things won't change until we do' are not guilt-ridden messages to non-activists, but a statement that we are responsible for being part of making the future, and a promise to make that future better for the generations to come. The hope is that even just one of these phrases will speak to each and every fan watching the Indy 500 and inspire them to be part of making the world a better place in any way they can.
