First off I want to say how proud I am of the Oregon football team. The players and coaches in my opinion are some of the best we’ve ever had. As a life long Oregon fan It’s been a dream come true for me to be able to not just photograph the team but watch them grow into the amazing people, leaders and roll models that they are today. 
When the opportunity arose for me to cover the pac 12 Championship I jumped at it. The game started out badly for the Ducks but developed into one of the more exciting games I’ve covered. It did not end the way I had hoped for but the game often mirrors life. It’s hard to win all the time and I truly believe at the end of the day it’s not wether you get knocked down but wether you get back up. As I walked back to my car after the game my emotions started to overcome me. I realized that was likely the last time I will photograph Bo Nix throw a pass to his brother Tez Johnson or will witness Troy Franklin the greatest receiver in Oregon history do what he does better then anybody. My time with this years team was most likely over. I sat there for a few minutes and composed myself. I realized just how much I care about the journey of those young men and reflected back on the amazing season they had. All the long hours of hard work and dedication the players and coaches put in. What I appreciate the most about this team is the heart they show every time they step on the field. No matter how hard they get hit they always get back up and never stop fighting. I will always consider myself lucky to have been on the sidelines for this teams journey and look back on these memories with pride. I truly love and appreciate what I have had an opportunity to do. As my favorite TV character said “onward, forward”.
