I’m not above a good party. But there are a few things I’ve learned in my time as a wedding photographer that I personally would never do at my wedding. 
✨
1. I would not do an indoor ceremony.
The major reason is that I prefer the natural light look and I think artificial light would be distracting to have to deal with no matter if it’s flash or continuous.

2. I wouldn’t have my bridal party stand during the entire ceremony. I think it’s cute to have them there in the beginning but I think it’s more intimate to be just you and your partner. It draws attention that way and i shot a few weddings where the bridal party forgets to smile and look bored and annoyed after standing up there for a long time.

3. I wouldn’t do a buffet. I think buffets are really reasonable for people who want to save money but sit down service is preferred because people don’t have to wait as long to eat and they’re not standing up and being everywhere but their chairs during dances and speeches.

4. I wouldn’t do father daughter or mother son dances. This one is a deeply personal reason but my father passed away and I think it would make me too sad to have to dance with my mom. I would just do the first dance and then invite the entire family out for a fun dance number.

5. I wouldn’t do a grand exit right at the end of the night. 
I would do it probably right after eating that way everyone is still there and I could look really nice in those photos. The grand exit at the end, is usually post dancing, sweating, and a few people have already gone home! This ensures your tunnel is full of people and you look hot. Plus you don’t have to pay for coverage for you photographer and videographer for overtime if you run behind on scheduling.
