Nirvana’s 𝙄𝙣 𝙐𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙤 is celebrating its 30th trip around the sun 🎉
 
Originally titled ‘I Hate Myself And Want To Die,’ the album’s creative direction was handled by Kurt Cobain himself. The iconic front cover was created from a plastic body model found in anatomy classrooms that Cobain added wings to. While recording this album, he often drove to a medical supply store to look for charts and models, saying “I guess I secretly want to be a doctor or something.”
 
The back cover was created on his dining room floor, highlighting images of plastic fetuses, replicated intestines and a turtle shell surrounded by carnations and lilies.
