In January 2018 when Mike and I did this interview, Tyler Matzek had been out of baseball for a year and was working his way back into the game. Last night, he threw two scoreless innings with four strikeouts in the clinching game of the World Series. From sitting at home without a team in any league to play for, to becoming one of the most dominant relief pitchers in Major League Baseball and a World Series champion almost four years later…congrats tamatzek!! 🏆 💍 ⚾️

I’ve followed Tyler’s comeback ever since we crossed paths in the CWL and it’s so cool to see his progress and success. This postseason, Tyler had 24 strikeouts and gave up only 3 earned runs in 15.2 innings over 13 appearances.

To watch the full interview, click the link in my bio. Huge shoutout to my guy jaredcooper4 for filming this interview. At the time, we thought it would be cool to have on video. I’m incredibly thankful that we have this to watch and look back on instead of only having audio.
