The finalists announced for this season's Mike Richter and Hobey Baker awards caught more than a few NCAA hockey fans and voters off guard.

The first indication that something perhaps wasn’t quite right when the Richter finalists were announced: Northeastern’s Devon Levi, Minnesota State’s Dryden McKay and Quinnipiac’s Yaniv Perets.
