With @michiganstatebasketball and the #ChampionsClassic back in Chicago tonight, I'm throwin' it back to circa. 2013 when the Classic was in Chicago for the first time and I covered it for @statenews. @stephenm_brooks, @qwavuwien and I tore up the city. Keith Appling went off. Julius Randle, Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker were all in college. And Sparty jumped to No. 1 in the rankings with the win against Kentucky.
