## Caption

Tyrus Wong was a Chinese immigrant artist whose paintings served as the inspiration for Disney's "Bambi" (1942). His works heavily inspired the style of the film yet he was only credited as a background artist. He only gained recognition in 2001 when he was named a "Disney Legend." He was unrecognized for his efforts for most of his life but continued to lead in the industry as lead production illustrator, set designer, and storyboard artist on other works such as "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955) and "The Wild Bunch" (1969).
