Inter Miami coach Tata Martino won’t be welcomed in México anytime soon.

In a recent interview with Caliente TV, Edson Álvarez revealed more problems with the former México coach. 

“He was very interested in Ajax’s system, we shared a lot of things,” Edson said.

“In the World Cup, I didn’t feel I was an undisputed starter, but I felt I had many chances to play.”

“In the game against Poland, the relationship was the same as always. The game against Argentina came and it was like I was a stranger, as if he had never seen me play. I didn’t start and I didn’t play.”

The decision to not play one of the team’s best players against Argentina became very controversial in México, and they ended up losing 2-0.

Martino is Argentinian and former Argentina coach. Many Mexican fans believe he lost that game on purpose to avoid Argentina being knocked out from the group stage. 😬
