Friends, whenever I post from the Life Is Suffering Series I am posting because I have been gracefully reminded of of my own discomfort, my anxiety, and even my anger. Life is suffering can be taken many ways, but one way I have been digesting the phrase, is in the present tense. Tomorrow I will be filming the protest and vigil at the ICE detention center in Aurora. People are suffering, lives are suffering, life is suffering.That's why I am going. When we see suffering we have to be thoughtful in how we can help. When we get caught up in our own suffering one remedy is to help someone else with their suffering. We can't get rid of the big stuff sickness, death, a cup of decaf coffee (haha) but the suffering that can stop needs to stop. Personally I have dealing with an under current of envy. I had to remind myself that envy is just a response. A response that only creates more messes. I call it Cat in The Hat syndrome. Your attempt to get rid of a mess leads to bigger and more exotic messes. Life is suffering.
