Why is Matt Struck making a Lifestyle Magazine?

Dear Reader,

Thank you for following the Instagram and taking an interest struck_by_life I want this to be a high quality web destination and space to build on the genre, I invented, called the Instagram-Mazine™. My very famous friend, and I mean famous, I can’t say name but just trust me, he said to me, “Matt, this seems like a vapid and pointless creation, do you really need this?” The answer is NO. But the people have said YES. In just under 3 weeks we have gathered 94 followers. So the numbers don’t lie.

Last week I overheard an argument with my agent and a magazine printing house, my agent told me that I need to stand up for myself and stand up for Matt Struck, because Matt Struck is dead. Matt Struck is no longer a person, he is a brand™. At first the sentence scared me and I considered firing him but then I finally started to see things his way. Matt Struck is dead.

I can’t wait to share health tips, fashion DOs and Do Nots, and show people how to live a classy nightlife. You have come to know Matt Struck as the host of Really Late Night, but I want you to get to know the coconut water drinking late night host who wakes up early for VR bike ride around a digital park.

P.S. Okay, So none of that was true. There is no famous friend and none of my terms and/or ideas are trademarked. I started doing research on magazines. After picking up a dozen or so at the thrift store I realized that most magazines are trash. Especially, lifestyle magazines with celebrities. They are incredibly strange to me. So I wanted to make this magazine through the character of Matt from the show of Really Late Night. Celebrity magazines are junk food of the mind that talk about nothing and use compelling visuals to sell us more trash. What a waste of photographers and graphic designers time and talent to help sell trash. I want to Struck By Life to be beautiful trash, a digital magazine that knows it is empty and vapid but underneath has something to say. Thank you for reading.
