If you’re a mama who is pregnant after a pregnancy loss, I wish I could tell you that once your rainbow baby arrives, your anxiety and fear will go right out the window. But instead, I’m going to tell you what I wish someone would have told me. 

The anxiety and fear will not disappear. It will transfer. There will be relief, of course, but the fear will still be there. 

There’s a movie about stillbirth and one of the most honest lines in it is when the mother learns she’s pregnant after losing her son. “I’m afraid of everything.” 

And there’s the truth that I wish someone had spoken to me. The anxiety *will* creep back in. It will be something that you will have to actively work on, through therapy or however else you heal. You will worry about the other shoe dropping. You know how precious life is now and that’s a heavy knowledge. 

Gather resources now that can help you manage fear and anxiety but know that the joy *will* come and that will be so sweet, mama.
