There is always something worth celebrating, even during a pandemic. Even though we didn’t get to have the big first birthday party with lots of friends and family, we were so thankful to have our little pod to toast Theodore.

Did I make an invitation for a party that included just us? Yes. Did I order a cake for 15 people? Also yes. (More cake for breakfast!)

Sometimes, perhaps especially during a pandemic, you have to celebrate moments big, even when it’s with just yourself. So we made Kir Royals, cheered to our sweet Theo (who enjoyed a traditional German Berliner) and hoped for the day that we would get to celebrate birthdays with each and every person we love.
