Norwegian state-owned oil company Equinor spends millions presenting itself as a company “committed to the energy transition.” 

We know this is a lie.
We read their annual report. 

In 2023 99.85% of Equinor’s energy production weree fossil fuels. 0.15% was renewable energy.

Is this the same oil company that was found guilty for greenwashing just last December? 

Yes.

The same company that is pushing new fossil fuel projects in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Tanzania and the United Kingdom?

Yes.

Oil companies have shifted their strategy from questioning global warming to portraying themselves as active drivers of the energy transition. 

They state things like “We agree that the transition to a more sustainable energy system is taking place too slowly.” (Actual quote from Equinor)

Greenwashing enables oil companies to maintain their social approval. Their social license to operate. It allows them to expand their destructive business and hinder the transition to clean energy.

Meanwhile, communities all over the world - particularly in the Global South - continue to suffer because of their carelessness and greed.

It’s time to call out oil companies greenwashing:
