Today in #USOpenCup history (March 17, 1929): About 10,000 fans at Sportsman's Park in #StLouis saw the highest scoring Semifinal match in tournament history as the hometown Madison Kennels defeated Sparta from #Chicago, 7-4. The Greyhounds scored in the 1st minute & never looked back with Bud Grenon scoring a hat trick

NOTE: The only other Semifinal match to reach 11 total goals was in 1962 when the #SanFrancisco Scots edged Kutis SC (St. Louis) 6-5
