## Caption

Yesterday L.A. county held its local elections. The polls at Weemes Elementary School (pictured above) served only 25 people from 7am-12pm. Our local elections have been infamous for low voter turnouts. Since the 1980’s more than half of voters chose to stay away from the polls. According to statistics taken in 2013, the city of Watts (close to downtown) saw more than 93% of voters did not vote. As of yesterday, the city of LA had 2,028,597 registered voters.
