La esclavitud fue una abominación y se necesitó una guerra para ponerle fin, pero terminó. Jim Crow encarnaba el racismo y los prejuicios en nuestras leyes, pero el movimiento de Derechos Civiles puso fin a Jim Crow. Hoy en día, las personas Afroamericanas y gente morena aún experimentan racismo todos los días en todos los niveles de la vida estadounidense y enfrentan violencia a manos de la policía, pero millones de personas marchan, abogan, se reúnen y se organizan para finalmente poner fin a eso también.

Este diecinueve de junio, unámonos y continuemos la larga marcha hacia la justicia. Sí, ha tardado demasiado en llegar, pero el cambio finalmente parece estar a la mano." "Marchemos hasta que se gane la victoria"

Jim Crow embodied racism and prejudice in our laws, but the Civil Rights movement put an end to Jim Crow. Today, Black and Brown people still experience racism every day at every level of American life and face violence at the hands of the police, but millions of people are marching, advocating, rallying, and organizing to finally put an end to that too. 
This Juneteenth, let’s stand together and continue the long march toward justice. Yes, it has taken far too long to get there, but change at last feels like it may be at hand." Let us march until victory is won"
