Meet Emma Bishop! 🛰 Emma is a Frontend Software Engineer for #MethaneSAT's Data Platform Team, which means she works to build the web app that will display methane data from the satellite, our MethaneAir data, and data about oil and gas infrastructure. Her role in the team is to lead the development of features related to oil and gas infrastructure. MethaneSAT’s goal is to help people understand how much methane is being emitted into the atmosphere and where it’s coming from. We hope the public data will inspire big, bold action.

We asked Emma how she sees the role of #WomenInSTEM evolving. ⬇️

I hope that there will be a day when the words “scientist”, “engineer”, or “coder” will conjure up the image of a woman like me or my colleagues. I hope there will be a day – soon! – when we don’t have to give advice to women in science and engineering that’s any different from the advice we’d give to a man.
