From the Tarheels of UNC 👣 to the the Tivoli Gardens ⛲️ of Denmark 🇩🇰 and then from Auburn, Alabama 🐅 to Aulnay, France 🇫🇷…and beyond 💫

🟰our team captain, Julia Taylor‼️

From first playing a gym class version of the sport with dodgeballs ☄️, Julia Taylor’s handball journey grew to competing in college at UNC 👣 , growing her skills in Denmark 🇩🇰, to be accepted as one of the original five USATH women handball athletes in the residency program at Auburn University 🐅. Whew!

And just when you’d thought she’d reached her pinnacle as an American handball player, she pursued and earned a professional contract to play in Aulnay, France 🇫🇷 just outside of Paris🗼. Julia went on to play 6️⃣ seasons in France with ✌️ different clubs…and to become fluent in French. 

In 2019, Julia accomplished the goal she had been pursuing since she first first put on a Team USA jersey - to play in the Pan American Games. “Walking into the opening ceremonies and playing for the bronze medal 🥉 was one of the most empowering moments of my athletic career.”

And it ain’t over folks…Julia continues to lead the USWNT both on and off the court!  Julia is a team #catalyst and says this about competing “alongside a group of powerful women who inspire me every day. I am incredibly proud to be a part of this group and look forward to what this year holds in store for us!” 

#️⃣1️⃣1️⃣ is one to watch for in 2023!
