Student Spotlight: Alexandra Blount (Ms. B) 🎓

Alexandra's journey into education was ignited by her love for working with young children during summer camps. The joy of interacting with children in the pre-K through third grade range solidified her decision to pursue a career in teaching.

Reflecting on her time at UNF, Alexandra shares that the Pre-K/Primary Licensure program has been an enriching experience. Through her classes and internship, she has been building her toolbox of skills that will undoubtedly contribute to her success in the classroom. Each class and experience has equipped her with valuable tools to be the best teacher she can be.

“The rivercityscienceacademy Apprenticeship Program has been an experience that I am grateful for and have learned so much from. The program has been instrumental in my transition to taking charge of my own classroom in the spring. I feel that I have found my “teacher voice,” learned more about classroom management, building a community in the classroom, and learned how to make connections with students and learning material. A large part of my teaching philosophy is engaging students through their interests. I feel this experience has allowed me to grow in this aspect and I am very happy I applied and was accepted into this program.”

As Alexandra embarks on the next chapter, she'll continue to make a positive impact at River City Science Academy, where she'll be teaching full-time. But her journey doesn't end there! Alexandra has exciting plans to pursue her master's degree in education at COEHS, starting this summer in the Rising Osprey Program.
