This May, WPI Athletics is celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by asking each of our coaches to pick a legendary or favorite Asian American in their sport. Next up is Eun Jung (EJ) Lee Smith, the current head girl’s basketball coach at River Oaks School in Louisiana. Lee Smith was a star point guard for the University of Louisiana Monroe, and then spent 29 years as an assistant coach for the Lady Warhawks. As a player, Lee-Smith was named a Kodak All-American in 1985 and 1986. She has been inducted into the ULM and Louisiana Hall of Fame. She was a 4x Southland Conference Player of the Year and was named a Southland Conference Player of the Decade for the 1980’s. #aapi #APAEverywhere #APAHM
