#CountdownToTheNewYear: This week, we’re looking back at the most important watches sold in 2020 and today, we’re going for gold with this true vintage icon!

This ultra-rare Rolex Daytona JPS Ref.6264 in 18 carat gold made its debut on the auction circuit in July and soared to $1.5m – a record for a watch sold in an online auction. 

The 1969 ‘John Player Special’ - named after the legendary 1970s Formula 1 livery, because of its black and gold “Paul Newman” dial - also set an auction record for a wristwatch sold in the UK, a record for a Daytona JPS and one of the highest prices ever paid for a Daytona.
