This Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref 57111p - a limited edition in platinum - is the top lot of the first sale, opened for bidding 10-17 July. Made in 2016 to mark the 40th anniversary of the luxury sport watch, it is estimated at £170,000-270,000.

With the launch of London sales, Sotheby's goes up a gear to four “Watches Weekly” sales per week: New York sales kick off on Tuesdays, Hong Kong on Wednesdays, Geneva on Thursdays and London on Fridays.
