## Caption

With a movement created by Mattheus Hallyächer of Augsburg around 1680, this rare spherical watch appears to be an intriguing attempt to replicate the principles of a pendulum within a portable timepiece. Made around two decades after Huygens successful application of a pendulum to a clock, it will be offered in our auction ‘Masterworks of Time: Adolf Lange, the Golden Era of Glashütte’  in #Geneva on 11 November (est.
