“Salty watch…working pretty well at any level”, said the Rolex ad in 1965. While the Rolex Submariner was invented to work perfectly 660 feet under the sea, it rapidly turned into a fashion icon and is today one of the most sought-after watches on the market.
Coming from the family of its original owner, this reference 5513 from 1962 features a rare Submariner Explorer dial with highly collectable features. The depth rating is different to the standard meters (the 'm' for meters is missing and the FT is written using a non-italic font), the watch displays “an exclamation point dial” (a luminescent dot underneath the index at 6 o'clock”), and the case is equipped with clearly defined pointed crown guards.
Adding to its desirability, the watch is accompanied by its original guarantee, purchase receipts, insurance and services documents.
Don’t miss the chance to try on this increinle timepiece at our #London galleries, 13-16 April, ahead of our Watches auction on 16 April at 2pm. rolex #SothebysWatches #watchwednesday #Rolex #RolexSubmariner #rolexwatch #rolexwatches #rolexwrist #submarinerdial #watchofinstagram #wristwatch #divingwatch
