Kicking off our Hong Kong saleweek with a bang! @jonny_crockett brings the hammer down on our top lot of the evening, Zao Wou-Ki. Our 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale in Hong Kong achieved HK$233.6 million (US$29.8 million), the highest total in the company's history in Asia. With strong results for modern and contemporary artists including Zao Wou-Ki, Jean Dubuffet, Zhang Xiaogang, George Condo and KAWS, a new World Auction Record was set for Tomoo Gokita when ‘Women in Crime’ sold for HK$2,740,000 and a new record for Richard Lin for a work on paper, which realized HK$5,140,000.
