## Caption

LDN - She's alive! #JoanaVasconcelos' magnificent #Valkyrie breathes her first breaths as she is brought to life at #PhillipsBSQ. This large-scale sculpture will hang from the ceiling of our main gallery space and is made with different tones of pink fabric and thousands of LED lights. The Valkyrie series looks to evoke the feminine figures of Norse mythology who flew over battlefields to choose which of the slain warriors were worthy of a place in Valhalla, the great hall of Odin where the souls of brave warriors reside. Joana Vasconcelos exhibition #MaterialWorld is open to the public from 15 July through to 28 August.
