#TerrierTransfers meet Emma Quarequio (CAS '23), a junior majoring in Anthropology.

What was your transition like when you first started at BU?

"Even in the middle of a pandemic, BU's transfer community was such a wonderful support system because every single transfer student has been in your shoes at some point."

Can you think of a specific experience that made you happy that you transferred to BU?

"As a guaranteed sophomore transfer candidate, I was ecstatic to be in the place I knew I would finish out the next 3 years of my education. I was finally in a city where the world was at my fingertips and where there was no shortage of people who are just as enthusiastic about their academic journey as you are. Most importantly, I was finally in a place that felt like home."

What are the general resources that BU provides for transfer students?

"The biggest resources are TTBU, (Transition to BU) and the first-year seminars you can take in your first semester on campus. TTBU is where I was able to connect with fellow transfer students the most, as well as ask all of the questions I needed to when adjusting to a new school. FY101 provided me with a lot of basic information about how to navigate on-campus life and academic resources such as advising. From what I've heard of other universities coupled with my own personal experience, I can confidently say that BU supports their transfer students exceptionally well."

Stay tuned for more #TerrierTransfers!
