#BUFeatureFriday: Boston University College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College 

Home to more than 1300 undergraduate and 450 graduate students, busargent offers a close-knit, small-college environment in a large, diverse, research university. Professors are supportive and accessible, and have a genuine connection to their students. Sargent faculty include some of the nation’s most respected leaders in health and rehabilitation, including the current chair of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Foundation, a member of the Auditory System Study Section for the National Institutes of Health Center for Scientific Review, two past American Occupational Therapy Association presidents, and two winners of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers – as well as leaders in aphasia and Parkinson’s disease research and clinical care.

There are four departments at Sargent College:

Health Sciences: Choose between programs in Health Science, Human Physiology, Nutrition/Dietetics, and Public Health (minor)

Occupational Therapy: Offers programs in Behavior & Health, Occupational Therapy, and Rehabilitation Sciences

Physical Therapy & Athletic Training: Choose between programs in Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences, and Athletic Training

Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences: Choose between programs in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences and Speech-Language pathology

Fun Fact: Sargent’s Human Physiology program features a rigorous human-centered scientific curriculum, including BU’s only cadaver-based instruction for undergraduates. (That’s right, there is a cadaver lab in the basement of Sargent College).
