Captured with RED cameras, we’re diving into the fascinating world of leopard sharks. 🌊 Did you know that these sleek beauties can grow up to 6 feet long? Despite their name, leopard sharks are not true sharks. They belong to the family Triakidae, which also includes houndsharks and catsharks. Leopard sharks can be identified individually by their unique pattern of spots, similar to a human fingerprint. We are so lucky to see these amazing animals in our back yard and nothing beats sitting on the bottom eye to eye enjoying their beauty📏🦈 

Leopard sharks are currently listed as a species of concern and face conservation challenges. While they are not officially classified as endangered, their population has been declining in certain areas due to various factors such as habitat degradation, pollution, and overfishing. It’s crucial for us to support conservation efforts, promote sustainable fishing practices, and protect the habitats where leopard sharks thrive.
