"I love this image because it tells the story of the harsh and unforgiving coastline of New Zealand where this particular group of orcas have carved out a way of life. It's a challenging place to films orcas considering the constantly changing conditions and the dangerous inlets and shores these whales have learned to navigate but it's the daily reality of these animals. Shortly after this photo was taken a storm forced us to take safety in a protected cove... but this image reminds me that the orcas had no other option but to continue their constant search for food. 

“We captured this on the RED #HELIUM8K with the Canon CN 20 in a GSS gimbal. We pushed this camera system to the brink in New Zealand with constant rain and cold stormy seas, but it never skipped a beat.”
