Apa Sherpa has climbed Mount Everest 21 times, but he wouldn’t wish this for anyone. More than 30 high porters have died on Everest since 2014. “Without education, you have no choice,” says Apa, which is why he started the Apa Sherpa Foundation, the mission to bring much-needed help to the Khumbu Valley’s education infrastructure.
