WSL Championship Tour surfers @lakeypeterson @bettylou.sakura.johnson and @connercoffin join #weareoneocean coalition partner and WSL PURE grantee @malama_pupukea_waimea and #ShiseidoBlue to restore the coastline near Pipeline and learn how the plants affect the waves and reefs we love to surf. With the @wslpure grant Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea:

🌱 Planted over 255 native plants, gathered 41 quart-sized bags of native seeds from the native plant restoration area, and propagated 1,300 native plant seedlings using the seeds and compost.

📚 Taught over 1,000 kids the importance of stewardship, restoration, and conservation

✨ Engaged 40 members of the community and state, county, federal, and nonprofit partners in restoration and conservation planning

♻️ Removed and composted over 4,000 pounds of invasive weeds from the native plant restoration site.
