In the performing arts, the word "ensemble" generally refers to a collective of performers. In its original French, the word ensemble or assemblé also means "together". While there is tendency to focus on a ballet's star soloists, the ensemble is equally important in ballet works. The medium of film allows audiences to see every detail of the image created, putting a spotlight on the visual spectacle created by the dancers' formation.
